Desert Bloom Florist was inspired by my mother's avid love for gardening. I grew up playing in a backyard lined with rose bushes, bulb flowers, (daffodils, iris and tulips), as well as herbs, such as parsley, mint and thyme. I have always loved and appreciated nature, especially flowers.
I graduated from Fairfield University with a B.S. in Accounting. After eight years in the corporate world, I decided that I needed a change. I enrolled in floral design classes in New Jersey, where I lived.

After a year of classes I was ready to explore the profession further. I trained and apprenticed at several shops in Monmouth County, New Jersey. I was exposed to different design techniques which helped to develop my own.
Three and a half years later I moved to New Mexico and opened Desert Bloom. We have been open eight years as of August 14. Our work is all custom with emphasis on unusual and lasting creations. We strive to provide the best possible arrangement for all price ranges.
